VR RPG Character Modeling and Target Alpha Date

Not going to lie, it's been a rough week for development. I had a small hitch with the proportions of the character since I hadn't fully explored it as much as I should have. Took up a good part of this week trying to figure things out until I got something I liked yesterday, at which point I went straight to modeling a base mesh. At the time of writing, I'm working on the detailed mesh in Sculptris. The delay hasn't been pretty, but referring to the road map, we should be done by October 31st, I should remain on schedule. I'm worried that I haven't been thinking about the possible male character AT ALL in this time period. I just don't have anything in mind for that and at this stage, which tells me I'm just not all that intrigued by the idea. I work worse than I do already when my investment is that low, so I'm not quite seeing how it'll work out when I also have to deal with the clothing for the female MC at the same time. At the rate things are going. I'm probably going to move that to the post development additions stage. If I have a bunch of extra time at the end of development, the idea will get revisited and may be applied if time allows. I need at least one character to make the game, not two. If I need to cut one, I will.

With this pace, I should hopefully be done with the main body before the week's end. That should give me time to start on the clothes over the next week or so. I have some ideas to test out in that regard, but it shouldn't be too much trouble. I've only got 5 outfits in mind at this point. Once this is all done, it should be time to move on to rigging again. I don't think it's going to be too difficult, but figuring out how it's going to work out with the clothes is something I've yet to actually learn about so that's going to be interesting to say the least.

Little hitches and cuts are things to be expected of any game's development, but I'm still rather optimistic. I've got tons of ideas and plenty of spirit to work on and I'm actually more excited than ever to keep on working on the project. I'm particularly happy since the structure of the game's design is steadily forming more and more in my head and I think people will find what I accomplish with a relatively small asset pool to be pretty good. Maybe it's just me, but as a learning experience, I'm already overjoyed with the project's progress.
